TABMA Training are committed to ensuring our industry maintains its high level of customer service and knowledge, by employing trainees and apprentices.

By taking part in our traineeship scheme, you not only can increase productivity, but are also helping our industry.

TABMA GROUP TRAINING has been operating for over ten years in NSW, and has successfully employed hundreds of trainees and apprentices. We indenture the trainees and apprentices ourselves, to place them with Host Employers who are both capable and interested in providing suitable on the job training.

A traineeship, of 12 months duration is designed to develop skills and knowledge necessary to start a CAREER, in the Timber Industry. On completion, the trainee receives a nationally recognised qualification.

An apprenticeship of 4 years duration, is a proven method for a business to develop staff with skills customised for the specific enterprise and industry. It is designed to provide a new entrant to the industry with skills needed to be an effective worker. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice becomes a fully qualified and certified tradesperson.

As TABMA is the actual employer, we pay the trainees/ apprentices weekly wage and other award requirements, including Annual Leave, Leave Loading, Superannuation and Workers Compensation. All you have to do is pay our weekly invoice.

LABOUR HIRE
We have a labour hire service which can provide skilled, semi or non skilled labour for merchant, manufacturing or wholesaling operations. If you need replacements for absentees or workers on leave, this service will be a benefit.


FUEL SAVINGS
TABMA has an exclusive arrangement with MOBIL who provides substantial discounts on Unleaded and Diesel fuels to members. Members have a facility to save over 5% on your annual fuel bill.


GROUP BUYING DISCOUNTS
We are continuously reviewing opportunities to use our membership base as leverage to buy commercial commodities or services at reduced rates and are keen to explore any product or service put forward by members.


DIY PROJECT SHEETS
These leaflets comprise 26 different handyman projects known to generate the sale of substantial quantities of timber and associated products.


MEMBER ACTIVITIES
Regular networking and information meetings are held in Sydney and regional locations and we encourage all members to attend these meetings. From time to time we conduct study tours to places of industry interest. RESEARCH & SURVEYS We subscribe to a variety of surveys and statistical data on timber products and the building industry. This information is summarised and published in the newsletters, it is also available in depth to any member.

We conduct quarterly Customer Service Surveys for both Timber and Hardware aspects of consumer service. Comprehensive reports are provided to participating members.


PUBLICATIONS
We publish a quarterly newsletter which is distributed to all members to keep you informed on our industry.

Members also receive a complimentary subscription to a national industry magazine, Australian Timber Design.

The association subscribes to many national and international publications, relevant details are passed on to the various sectors of membership.


DEBTORS CONTROL AND COLLECTION
Building Trade Credit Service (BTC) is a fully owned subsidiary of TABMA and the foremost credit monitoring and reporting bureau in the building industry. All new members of TABMA are offered a 3-month free trial subscription to the BTC services.


INSURANCE SAVINGS
Gow-Gates, Australian owned insurance brokers, are endorsed by TABMA. They have substantial industry experience, provide excellent service, select reputable and reliable underwriters and most importantly are saving members substantially on premiums. An obligation free evaluation of your current insurance is provided at no cost to members.


TECHNICAL ADVICE
Through the TABMA relationship with the Timber Development Association you can obtain expert advice on complex issues relating to the correct use and/or specification of timber products.
